Dagmar Šubrtová dlouhodobě zkoumá krajinu poznamenanou těžbou a průmyslem. Pro diptych Sekundární minerály využívá popel z uhelné kotelny, uhelný prach a přírodní i umělé pigmenty, získané ze vzorků hornin z kladenského regionu, kde žije. Malba z těchto „sekundárních nerostů“ vzniklých lidskou činností propojuje fyzickou stopu průmyslu s malířským gestem. Dílo doplňují digitální tisky s analýzami pigmentů, které mapují jejich chemické složení. Autorka se tak táže po povaze vztahů mezi krajinou, průmyslovou historií a proměnou přírodních procesů.

Dagmar Šubrtová has long been exploring landscapes scarred by mining and industry. For the diptych Secondary Minerals, she used ash from a coal-fired boiler room, coal dust and natural and artificial pigments obtained from rock samples from the Kladno region, where she lives. The painting, created from these “secondary minerals” produced by human activity, connects the physical traces of industry with the painter’s gesture. The work is complemented by digital prints featuring pigment analyses that map their chemical composition. The artist thus explores the nature of the relationships between landscape, industrial history and the transformation of natural processes.
