Objekt patří k pracím, v nichž Ján Mančuška rozvíjel svůj zájem o vztah času, vyprávění a vizuální struktury. Filmové pásy jsou umístěny v průhledných boxech z plexiskla a v různých konfiguracích upevněny ke stěnám boxů pomocí vláken, která procházejí perforací filmového materiálu. Lineární filmový pás je tak rozvinut do trojrozměrné struktury, v níž se obraz a čas proměňují v prostorovou kompozici. Postava na filmovém pásu je vždy orientována ve vertikální poloze vůči půdorysu objektu a pořadí jednotlivých obrazů odpovídá časové posloupnosti pohybů postav a vývoji příběhu. Z formálního hlediska představuje dílo kritickou reflexi uzavřené modernistické formy: filmový materiál je zde zbaven své původní projekční funkce a proměněn v prostorový objekt, který propojuje čas, obraz a pohyb v rámci jediné instalace.

This work is part of a series in which Ján Mančuška explored his interest in the relationship between time, narrative and visual structure. The film strips are placed in transparent plexiglass boxes and secured to the walls of the boxes in various configurations using threads that pass through the perforations in the film material. The form in which the film strips are mounted may refer to a path of movement, the position of the figures or the trajectory of their gaze. A figure on the film strip is always oriented vertically relative to the floor plan of the object and the sequence of individual images corresponds to the chronological sequence of the figures’ movements and the development of the story. From a formal perspective, the work represents a critical reflection on the closed modernist form: the film material is stripped of its original projection function and transformed into a spatial object that connects time, image and movement within a single installation.
