Art interactively for adults and senior citizens

Many of GHMP’s educational activities are designed with all age groups in mind, including senior citizens, who are invited to attend our guided tours with curators, artists, or instructors, as well as our lectures, walks, and other activities. Like school groups, groups of seniors may make reservations in advance for interactive tours followed by art workshops, or they can arrange just a workshop for their group, if so interested.

The main art program for adults and seniors consists of a series of specialized workshops adapted for people from this age category, who welcome a patient and focused approach and prefer to work in smaller groups with a more intimate atmosphere. The range of topics is quite broad, including classical art techniques in the fields of drawing, painting, photography, and printmaking, but also three-dimensional works, conceptual art, action and experimental art, and new media. The aim of the workshop series is to present the gallery’s exhibitions and encourage personal reflections through art.

Senior citizens can also visit exhibitions for a discount and subsequently participate in interactive workshops. These events take place at predetermined times (up to ten times a month) at GHMP’s two art studios (the education center and the eco-studio). Reservations are required in advance. Senior citizens can also come alone or with their families to our Saturday art workshops, which are ideal for intergenerational encounters.

Another option for adults and seniors is our series of lectures titled Stories of Sculptures and Sculpture Groups, where you can learn interesting facts about selected public sculptures managed by Prague City Gallery.
