Visual identity

In 2017, Prague City Gallery and Czechdesign announced an open competition for graphic designers. From a field of 90 submitted designs, the winning entry was by Anymade Studio – Petr Cabalka and Filip Nerad. The finalists were chosen by a professional jury consisting of representatives from GHMP and experts from the field of design. The independent members of the jury included graphic designer and teacher at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design Petr Babák, graphic designer Adéla Svobodová, graphic designer and author of the visual identity for the Slovak National Gallery Branislav Matis, design and architecture theorist/critic Karolína Jirkalová, manager and co-founder of the Papelote brand Denisa Havrdová, and design theorist and director of Czechdesign Jana Vinšová.

Anymade Studio and typographer Martin Vácha (Displaay) created the unique Magger and Recklegg typefaces for GHMP.

Along with our new visual identity, we also launched the blog DESIGN GHMP, through which we are presenting how the winning design is being developed in real time. The aim of the blog is not to present a final outcome, but instead to show its evolution, including the details that will combine to form the final whole.

In a downloadable presentation, we present the designers’ work with the logo and typographic design, examples of internal communication materials (business cards, envelopes, tickets, etc.), printed marketing materials (two-month program, invitations, etc.), online materials for social networks, and samples from the exhibitions The Reunion of Poetry and Philosophy, The Slav Epic, Tomáš Ruller, Shadi Harouni, and the Start-Up exhibition series.
