An interactive art workshop will respond to the selection of artworks from the collections of Prague City Gallery. The artistic work will focus on painting medium. During the workshop entitled Watercolour – Colour Making, participants will try the traditional procedure for preparing their own watercolours, mixing powder pigments with a binder. The actual process of making the colour shades will be an interesting creative activity reminiscent of a craft workshop. It will be possible to use the mixed colours together for watercolour painting. The artistic workshop will introduce the participants to selected artists (such as Alois Bílek, Josefa Burianová, Gerhard Färber, František Kobliha, Jan Konůpek, Miroslav Ponc, Michal Ranný, Karel Svolinský) whose works are part of the GHMP collections. We will focus on the forms of abstraction or garden motifs. During the art work we will try watercolor techniques (wet and dry painting).
This programme is designed not only for adults and seniors, but also for their children and grandchildren as part of an intergenerational encounter. The workshops are also open to foreign visitors.
This activity is implemented with the financial support of UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency) and the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic.
