The art workshop is designed as a creative interaction with the exhibition and its documentary and artistic layers. By working with boxes and foldable paper structures, participants will seek ways to visually express their own attitudes and opinions. At the same time, they will respond to questions about the role of galleries in situations where they cease to function as a safe space for art. The box is understood here as a temporary exhibition space, a personal archive or a symbolic institution. Participants will work with objects, paper, texts, drawings, paintings and collages. They will also concentrate on working with ink as a means of expression used to highlight, conceal and suppress meaning. Emphasis will be placed on process, experimentation and engaging with meaning.
This programme is designed not only for adults and seniors, but also for their children and grandchildren as part of an intergenerational encounter. The workshops are also open to foreign visitors.
This activity is implemented with the financial support of UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency) and the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic.
