František Bílek understood typeface as a spiritual trace – for him, each stroke was not only a symbol but also energy. His drawings, prints and book designs feature handwritten inscriptions, ciphers and verses that complement the image itself. In the workshop, participants will try out various types of historical and expressive scripts, learn basic calligraphic strokes and create a short text inspired by Bílek’s work with line, rhythm and symbol. They will also be shown examples of Bílek’s manuscripts and typographic designs.
