Saturday Art Workshop: Gallery Inside Out / to the Free National Gallery. Description of a Struggle.

Through art workshops and conceptual and experimental activities, we will seek ways to visually express our own attitudes and opinions, responding to questions about what a gallery actually is, what it serves and what happens when it ceases to function as a safe space for art. We will draw inspiration from the documentary and artistic elements of the exhibition, pop-up exhibitions in boxes and various strategies of resistance in contemporary art. We will focus on visual art and working with objects, texts, drawings, collages, archives and performative gestures. Through our own work, we will reflect on the themes of power, memory, responsibility and cultural freedom.

The workshops emphasise process, sharing and critical thinking.
