Saturday Art Workshop: Works of Art Straight Out of a Magazine

As part of educational activities for all target groups and age categories, visitors will be able to draw inspiration from playfulness, irony and the use of unusual and ephemeral materials. They will also have the opportunity to reflect on the atmosphere of the post-revolutionary era and on the ideals of freedom, cooperation and cultural openness. During the Saturday workshops we’ll focus on two‑ and three‑dimensional art; we’ll recycle materials and combine familiar and somewhat unconventional techniques that leave room for imagination, humour, the illogical and the absurd. We’ll take a look back at the homes of DIY enthusiasts from the 1990s and try our hand at techniques such as weaving with newspapers or making beads from wallpaper, along with other “home made” methods.  In the spirit of Dadaism, we’ll let chance guide us as we experiment and improvise with collages and stencils. The workshops will offer space for improvisation, creativity and the discovery of unexpected possibilities in everyday materials.
