The purpose of the educational activities for all ages is to introduce visitors in a creative way to the exhibition entitled Group Therapy which presents foreign and Czech artists from the 1990s to the present day. The exhibition project, in the form of a dialogue, is a combination of the German Telekom’s extensive collection of Eastern European art and a selection of contemporary artworks from Prague City Gallery’s collection. The exhibited works will become a source of inspiration for the implementation of educational and artistic programmes, and we will deal more specifically with their form, content and message through direct interaction and confrontation with them and through their subsequent interpretation based on discussions. Important themes addressed include democracy, equality, freedom, identity, mental health, individualism, collectivism, history, memory, future perspectives and more. In addition to traditional and non-traditional techniques, processes and methods spanning drawing, painting, photography, spatial creation, conceptual and intermedia work (e.g. comic strip, collage, photo-collage, assemblage and many others), a wide range of experimental approaches, including the use of new technologies (digital drawing, photomontage) and audiovisual tools, will be applied in the artistic responses. The workshops are aimed at developing visual, information and media literacy and encourage creative and critical thinking.
