The interactive workshops will engage with the basic principles of photography and will be based on experimental techniques. We will focus on the importance of light as a key factor in photography (working with both natural and artificial sources).

In the first series of workshops, entitled Cyanotype and the Monochrome Image, we will record small objects using the cyanotype photogram technique, working with the natural light source of the sun, and it will be possible to work on your own topic based on objects or negatives that you bring with you. The resulting monochrome image will be developed using other experimental art techniques (monotype, frottage and imprints).

The second series of workshops, entitled The Photogram and the Black-and-White Image, will focus on experimenting with the photogram technique. Participants will learn the basics of creating a photogram, i.e. working with cast shadows and exposing photographic paper using an artificial light source, and then developing and stabilising the resulting image. They will approach their work either in an artistic way, with creative aspects, or purely as an informative record of the nature of the objects. During the workshop, we will also focus on the creation of black-and-white images, applying the creative principle of montage. During the artistic work, we will apply different working practices (cutting with scissors or a knife, layering) and will experiment with artistic disciplines (collage, photomontage, assemblage, perforation).

This programme is designed not only for adults and seniors, but also for their children and grandchildren as part of an intergenerational encounter. The workshops are also open to foreign visitors.
