Works by exhibiting artists from the collections of the GHMP will be the source of inspiration for this series of interactive workshops. We will focus on presentations of sculptural sketches and studies of artistically-rendered objects in the public space such as monuments, memorials, and sculptures. We will explore sketching as a form of quick and immediate recording, as well as the detailed studio versions of artistic expression. The inspiration for the drawing will come from the garden of Troja Château. Through the medium of drawing, we will explore selected sculptural objects from the Château garden and focus on garden decorations and architectural elements. During the art workshops we will apply the medium of drawing while experimenting with various art tools. In the introductory series of workshops entitled Drawing Sketches and Studies, we will work with traditional materials such as pencil, red chalk, and charcoal. In the second series of workshops, called Wash Drawing, we will try out a combined technique: wash drawing, whereby we apply washed paint (ink, watercolour) to a base drawing. In the next part of the workshops, Experiments with Pastel, we will try our hand at drawing with coloured pastel, focusing on modelling by the means of the hatching, overlapping, and spreading of pigment on paper. The eco-studio facilities in the orangery of Troja Château, which provide a pleasant space for artistic creation or even for relaxation, will also be available for the art sessions.
This programme is designed not only for adults and seniors, but also for their children and grandchildren as part of an intergenerational encounter. The workshops are also open to foreign visitors.
