The artworks of the exhibiting artists will inspire a series of interactive workshops focused on the phenomenon of drawing and experimental book creation. During the interactive workshop titled Drawing, Concept, and Object, visitors will have the opportunity to create their own experimental objects in the form of a folding picture book or diptych. They will develop these pieces as unique artistic artefacts, gradually enhancing them with drawings, written text (including letters, numbers, symbols, words, and quotes), using various techniques (collage, assemblage, and photomontage). The fine art workshop titled Artist’s Book will guide participants in creating their own artist’s book. We will explore traditional bookbinding techniques, including basic sewn binding, try out hand at semi-rigid binding and experiment with unique book shapes. Participants will also apply different processes to the paper, such as cutting, perforating, drawing, and painting, to create their artworks.
This programme is designed not only for adults and seniors, but also for their children and grandchildren as part of an intergenerational encounter. The workshops are also open to foreign visitors.
This activity is implemented with the financial support of UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency) and the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic.
