GHMP Colloredo-Mansfeld is reopening

We have completed the restoration of the monumental ceiling fresco dating from 1736 in the ballroom of the Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace, as well as repairs to its roof and roof trusses.
The preservation of the fresco, covering an area of over 140 m², was one of the most technically challenging aspects of the first phase of the palace’s restoration. Even before construction work began, the painting underwent a restoration survey, initial cleaning and stabilisation. The ceiling of the ballroom was subsequently supported by a special structure, which enabled work to be carried out on the roof trusses above the painting. Only after their repair could the actual restoration of the fresco begin, which was completed in 2025 by a team led by restorer Tomáš Berger.
From 4 September, we are reopening the GHMP Colloredo-Mansfeld, located just a few steps from Charles Bridge, so you can see for yourself both the restored fresco and the as-yet-unrenovated historic state rooms on the piano nobile, which have retained their period atmosphere.
